Why We Chose These Ingredients

Rolled Oats

Oats are a great source of Zinc. Not getting enough Zinc and Magnesium in our diet has been linked to a range of health disorders including reduced cognitive function and lowered mood.  Diets with reduced levels of zinc have been shown to be associated with reduced mood and depression. Also, research has suggested a possible link between an increased effectiveness of some antidepressant medications when taken alongside zinc.

Seeds and Nuts

The health advantages of seeds and nuts is seemingly endless. They provide excellent sources of Omega-3, Zinc, Magnesium and Antioxidants. Omega-3 is a form of fatty acid which has been found to boost the body’s immune system as well as reducing symptoms of depression and bipolar disorder. Magnesium has been recognised for it’s role in helping the body to regulate stress which in turn can help reduce symptoms of depression or anxiety. Low levels of Magnesium have been linked to conditions such as Diabetes and Hypertension. Finally, nuts such as Pistachios and Peanuts have been found to aid the body in producing Dopamine. Dopamine is responsible for our levels of motivation as well as memory and concentration. Healthy levels of Dopamine combined with exercise and plenty of sleep are essential in managing low mood, lack of motivation and stress.
